First meeting was a success!

Notes from first meeting – 4/10

·      Creating a mission for the group – something about promoting sustainability and taking action in St. Louis schools
·      There is some interest in exploring the LEED Associate accreditation for a teacher.  Interest in a study group, what would it mean for a teacher?  Teachers could be a resource for their districts when it comes to design and health, etc. in their schools.
·      Looking to create a list of sorts, a place to compile resources for teachers in St. Louis to utilize.  We can put this on the blog.
·      Information was shared about battery recycling.
·      Meetings are confirmed to be held monthly, the second Sunday each month at Schlafly Bottleworks.  We are planned through August:
o   5/8
o   6/12
o   7/10
o   8/14
·      Meetings will be help basically in two parts, open forum and speakers.
·      We created a list of topics we’re interested in learning more about in meetings or as topics for speakers:
o   YouTube – make a page for us
o   St. Louis composting
o   LEED associate
o   Recycling
o   Gardening – MOBOT, gateway greening
o   MSD
o   MOBOT – house tour
o   MOBOT in general
o   Litzsinger ecology
o   Trailnet
